Class of '62 - 60th Reunion

 We missed all of you who were not able to attend our 60th Class Reunion on September 16-18.  As usual we renewed a lot of old friendships and had a lot of laughs.  We began by meeting early Friday afternoon down near the "new" high school on the old "Hitching Grounds" to load up on our class float ... an old hay wagon, contributed by and pulled by a tractor driven by Larry Grimstad.  There must have been at least 10 or 12 of us riding around and throwing candy to the kiddies lining the parade route.

After the parade, since there wasn't another "official" event for a few hours, several of us retired to "Your Place Bar" for another hour or so of conversation.  After that it was off to Silvercrest for pizza catered by Mabes.  As always, this is one of the highlights of a reunion weekend because we all just wander around and talk with everyone else. This event, as well as all the other events of the weekend, included several members of the Classes of '63 and '64, which always adds to the enjoyment of the weekend.

There were no formal events planned during the day on Saturday, but eight of us played 18-holes of golf at Silvercrest, while the others wandered around the area visiting with each other and old friends.  Then Saturday night it was a return to Silvercrest, this time for cocktails and a sit-down dinner.

On Sunday morning, many of us enjoyed a lovely brunch at the beautiful home of Diane (Ellingson) and Larry Grimstad.  A big thanks to them both.  And a great big thanks to the homecoming planning committee .  who I won't list here by name (because I forget who they all are) ... but who are to be commended on putting together a great event.

It's hard to believe that our next "big" reunion will be our 65th in 2027, but if I know John Cutting and a few others like I think I do, I suspect there may be at least one "mini-reunion" in the interim!  Stay tunded!
